All the staff were most helpful, very professional and just plain nice... We stayed there during the Queen's visit in May, and left just as the President was arriving, so security was high around Merrion Square (with intermittant road closures), but our taxi back out to the airport arrived exactly as promised. Many thanks to you all! (And for that 5th floor room which allowed smoking...) Highly recommend breakfast at the cafe in the National Gallery and dinner at the Blackboard Bistro or Ely Wine Bar, plus Doheny & Nesbitt or Kennedys for drinks. And be sure to have a stroll in the Square itself!
Just a suggestion: we had to warn our US friends that low-energy lightbulbs need a little time to brighten up in the bathrooms. It might also be useful to ask for extra pillows in advance, if required, although the chambermaid magicked some up the very next day when we asked.
It is located on a very beautiful street with many Georgian houses further down on the same street. It is very centrally located. The museum is very close by and there are many pubs with live traditional Irish music in the evening.
the location is excellent, the breakfast was good , staff are very helpful
The quality of the lighting was poor in the room particularly the bathroom ,and in the corridors. It was difficult to see where to insert the electronic key for room 250, some of the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom need fixing toilet roll holder, the bath panels had come loose.
Very central location, well appointed extremely comfortable room. The desk staff were most helpful and friendly.I had to leave early and the hotel had a taxi ordered and waiting for me.
I thought there was a lounge bar/restaurant in the hotel, on the web page it gave this impression. That was a disappointment, although I used the lounge in your sister hotel across the road.
good quality hotel, ten minute walk from centre of Dublin so very handy but not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. this was our third stay at this hotel and would certainly use it again
unfortunately despite having a lovely room, it was very hot this time so had to leave windows open making it quite noisy with the traffic outside until about 1am, then started up again about 6am, reception staff helpful and provided electric fan on request, but unable to plug it in near the bed to give any effect. as this stay was only for 2 nights it was not a great problem, if i was staying any longer would have asked to move to quieter room as have had in the past as that was reason for choosing to stay here again rather than temple bar area which is too noisy for us.
Absolutely loved this hotel - friendliest staff ever, and very accomodating of requests.
Room was freezing, shower out of date, staff not pleasant. There was no indication that the marathon was on directly outside our window, so away at 6 both mornings
saturday morning breakfast was very poor quality and not worth the money. the showers were very poor quality from a temperature and flow perspective.
It was quiet, ie other guests did not slam doors or talk too loudly when in the corridor outside the room I was staying in. Seemed to be mostly respectable older couples visiting Dublin and not the younger generation on stag or hen parties. Would consider coming back with you wife.
Shower ater temp was most scolding and differicult to make cool. A plastic card warning you of the temp was in place, but personally, I would have like the issue addressed and the card be removed.
I liked the location as it was near the city centre but far enogh away to be peaceful
Helpfulness of reception staff_excellent
The standard of the breakfast on offer for two of the days was very poor, we had to ask for fresh fruit, tomato sauce, bread and butter each morning-made as feel as though we were being awkward
I didnt like a single room masquerading as a double room-- no space for a bedside table or lamp on left hand side of bed at room 220, only one chair, not worth it with no breakfast included in a price too high. You are trading too heavily on the fact that you are very centrally placed, no doubt about that--- unfortunately that does not compensate for failing in other features. Im sorry, -----I dont think I can recommend you overall. But good luck anyway, the country needs all the business it can get.
Breakfast was not included no wi-fi
Locetion is excellent for a city trip.
Room was in the attic,so cramped. Bar is dull, needs to be up dated. Lift very small...doubt a stretcher would fit in,should one collapse upstairs.
Ideal location for shopping in Dublin and easy walk to the Aviva stadium for the match
Pressure not great in the shower in our fourth floor room
